Improve How Your Mask Protects You
When choosing a mask, look at how well it fits, how well it filters the air, and how many layers it has. Make sure your mask fits snugly against your face. Gaps can let air with respiratory droplets leak in and out around the edges of the mask. Pick a mask with layers to keep your respiratory droplets in and others’ out. A mask with layers will stop more respiratory droplets getting inside your mask or escaping from your mask if you are sick.
Stay Safe,
Brenda McIntyre, RN

Parents and Care Givers of Asthma Students:
If your student has Asthma, please contact me, Brenda McIntyre, at Arapahoe Schools 856-9333 ext. 150, so we may update the Asthma Action Plan.
Updated Recommendations for students using a nebulizer to deliver asthma medications be switched to a metered dose inhaler (MDI) with spacer or dry powder inhaler. This change is due to the transmission risk posed to the student due to the larger droplet size of nebulized medication going deep into the lungs and to care providers delivering nebulizer treatments, should the student be a carrier of covid-19 (Amirav & Newhouse, 2020)
I am always available if you have any questions or concerns as well!
Ho'hou and Stay Safe,
Brenda E. McIntyre, RN
Arapahoe Campus Nurse
